On an application you should leave nothing to chance. Prepare yourself as well as you can. We have put together a few useful tips for you.

The approach

A job application, besides a personal cover letter, should consist of a tabular CV and copies of your references.

Essentially you should work on the basis that human resources staff in businesses receive a stack of applications to look at every day. Your personal cover letter must therefore be all about being noticed and must be presented as well as possible – at the same time bearing in mind that inconsistencies and capabilities will be discussed by the interview stage, if not before.

It is important that the cover letter be directly related to the company and tells the company about your personal interests and skills. Show the company what you could bring to it and why you are important. Ask yourself:

– Why should Cilag AG employ me?

– What makes me so right for the job?

– What are my expectations of Cilag AG and this job?

Your professional goals and aspirations should also be clear. The cover letter should ideally be no longer than one page.

Approach via an online application

Cilag AG prefers candidates to apply via the Internet. The same rules apply to online applications as to a written application. 

A few tips for applying online:

1. Make sure that your application is complete, clear, well structured and easy to read.
   
   
2. Attach your letter of application with your professional aspirations and goals, your current CV and any other documents as files. This way, your file can be distributed more easily internally.
   
   
3. Label your attachments (use PDF, Word or Excel files) as follows: Application, CV, Reference and Qualification Certificates.
   
   
4. Do not send encrypted files.
   
   
5. Do not send files that are too large (images), which cannot be opened by the recipient. Ensure that the attachments are no more than 2MB; this also applies to scanned photographs.
